Our History
Skyline started in Bisbee, AZ in the 1880’s as Hawley and Hawley Assayers & Chemists. Among its first mining clients were the historic Copper Queen Mine, the Copper Glance mine, the Holbrook Mine, and many other mines developing in & around Bisbee, AZ at the end of the 19th century through the beginning of the 20th century. Hawley and Hawley Assayers was recognized as one of the leading base metal, umpire, and ore-grade laboratories in the Southwest with delivering more than 40 years’ experience in the Copper Industry.
After going through a change in ownership, the name was changed to Skyline Assayers. Skyline continued that tradition of excellence in assaying for many decades under its new name.
In 1997 Skyline Laboratories, Inc. was bought by Actlabs, Inc. and began "doing business as" Actlabs-Skyline.
As of January 1, 2006, the laboratory again became an independent business. Skyline Assayers & Laboratories is the registered trade name of Arizona Assayers Inc. Skyline is recognized as an industry leader for all types of base metal, ferrous and non-ferrous analysis including high quality ore-grade assays, sequential copper analyses of ores, and umpire assays of metallurgical products. Skyline has grown and expanded its presence serving the mining industry in North America continuously for more than 135 years.
